HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The owner of a southeast Houston taqueria just happened to be watching his remote security system as his employees were being robbed.

Ivan Ramirez Reyes logged into his security cameras at El Quijote, 7128 Long Drive, around closing time Wednesday night to see two armed robbers sneak up on the female employees. One employee was taking out the trash. The robbery was captured on video.

The masked robbers demanded cash. One went inside the restaurant to get the cash. As they were leaving, a robber fired a warning shot, and the video shows the women flinch at the gunfire.

Ivan Ramirez Reyes was watching from another of his three locations. He could do nothing but call Houston police.

"We work all day for the money and then someone just comes and takes it away in seconds," said Ramirez Reyes. "It took 28 seconds. That's how long it took them to take the money. 28 seconds."

Thursday night, closing duties were done behind a locked gate. Anyone with information is urged to call Houston police or Crime Stoppers.
