A major fire caused damage to the Briar Pointe Apartments at 1717 Briar Lane in Wharton on Tuesday night.

The Wharton Police Department confirmed that 55 units were damaged by fire or water.

It took more than 75 firefighters to get this under control and 10 of those firefighters were treated for heat, while one had to be transported to a local hospital but he had non-life threatening injuries.
