Oakland PD investigates claims that officers had sex with underage prostitute

OAKLAND, CA -- Oakland police are investigating claims that some of their officers had sex with an underage prostitute in exchange for protection and information about undercover stings.

Da Lin of KPIX reports that interim Police Chief Ben Fairow said, "It's disturbing, I'm very concerned," when asked about allegations that officers had sex with a 16 year old prostitute.

The accuser, who is now 18, said she had sex with 14 Oakland police officers. The woman provided texts from a man she says was an officer who went by the name of "Superman." The texts included information about upcoming undercover sting operations.

The police department has opened investigations into five officers, two of whom have since resigned.
