VIDEO: People trapped in car rescued amid raging floods south of Dallas

DALLAS, TX (KTRK) -- Traffic is stacking up on I-45 south of Dallas because the entire roadway is closed due to flooding.

There were tense moments on that road after people were nearly swept off the interstate and had to be rescued.

Rescue crews used a kayak to pull flood victims from their car as water took over the freeway. This rescue happened about 50 miles south of Dallas.

I-45 remains closed near Corsicana after storms dumped more than a foot of rain in that area.
