VIDEO: Store owner surprises would-be robbers with gun

LAMONT, CA (KTRK) -- Two suspects who tried to rob a California market Wednesday were surprised to find the owner was armed.

Surveillance footage shows the men entering the store -- one of them pointing a gun towards the owner. The owner then drew his own gun and fired in the air at the suspects, who then fled.

No one was injured.

Elias Aguilar, of Azteca Market, said, "We got robbed before, but the first time they came they didn't give me a chance, plus I don't have no gun with me on that time. But this time, I mean, since that happened before, I was prepared."

Aguilar tells local station KERO he wasn't happy about having to use the gun, but he was glad to be prepared.
