Man arrested in his underwear near 2 Katy ISD schools

KATY, TX (KTRK) -- A man who allegedly tried to escape from deputies was hauled off to jail in his underwear.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said deputies were in Katy and serving the man with a warrant for felony evading arrest when he escaped. He disappeared in the 2900 block of Silver Cedar Trail, which is not too far from Katy ISD's Franz Elementary and Stephens Elementary schools. Both schools were placed on alert while deputies searched for the suspect, but the alert has since been lifted.

Deputies say the man ran into a house where the homeowner's dog was trapped inside. Deputies went into the home and arrested the man in his underwear. The dog was reunited with its owner minutes later.
