HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Traffic can be infuriating, and we've seen road rage incidents play out on Houston freeways, including the one captured on camera last weekend at FM-1960 and US-290. Auto Insurance Center, insurance news and information website, analyzed more the 65,000 Instagram posts hashtagged #RoadRage to find out when and where drivers feel most aggravated.

August is the worst month for road rage, with other summer months ranking high as well. Kids are out of school, families are on the road for vacation, and drivers are more likely to consume alcohol.

Looking at days of the week, road rage posts increase steadily from Monday through Friday, with Friday seeing the most. Likewise, on a hour-by-hour basis, road rage posts increase throughout the day, with the peak occurring during the evening rush hour at 6pm.

The study also identified the top 24 road rage cities - Houston landed on the list at number 8. The other Texas city on the list? Austin, at number 9.

The best way to avoid road rage? Never challenge another driver.
