2-year-old Cleveland child drowned in swimming pool

CLEVELAND, TX (KTRK) -- A family backyard swim outing turned tragic Thursday evening, May 12, when Kyler Ray Gilmore, 2, drowned in an above-ground swimming pool on CR 388 in north Liberty County.

The child's death at this time is being considered a terrible accident and no charges are expected to be filed.

Parents need to be aware of their children's location at pools and beaches

Sgt. Paul Lasco and Sgt. Investigator Josh Cummins with the Liberty County Sheriff's Office conducted the follow-up investigation. According to Lasco, the Gilmore family and another family had been swimming in the pool during the evening.
