BANGOR, ME (KTRK) --A 12-year-old is in big trouble after police say he stole a school bus and started driving it through Bangor, Maine.
Authorities say John St. Germain and his girlfriend were in their car when they noticed a blue bus pass by and realized that the driver looked a bit young, so they followed the bus and called police.
When the bus stopped at an intersection, police say Saint Germain got out of the car, entered the bus and took control of the wheel.
No one was hurt, and the 12-year-old was taken into custody.
St.Germain was honored by Bangor police.
The department wrote on its Facebook page that St. Germain was "unassuming, yet willing to help at the risk of injury to himself."
