Family of suspect helps end SWAT situation
A man accused of leading police in a chase barricaded himself inside his vehicle in Tomball

TOMBALL, TX (KTRK) -- A man's family is credited with helping end a SWAT standoff in Tomball.

The incident began after a man allegedly led police in a chase on the 610 Loop. The driver took police all the way to Highway 249 and Boudreaux in northwest Harris County.

Deputies say the man only stopped after blowing a tire.

The driver is accused of reaching speeds up to 100 miles per hour.

He was inside his car for several hours as a SWAT team tried to convince him to get out. But he finally gave up after four hours when his family arrived on scene.

There is no word on what charges he may face.
