Troopers say Fletcher was driving an 18-wheeler when he crashed into a Mercedes on Friday in Montgomery County near Texas 105.

It launched a chain reaction. The Mercedes hit a Cadillac and then the Cadillac hit another car. It involved five vehicles and took three lives. Witnesses say the driver of the 18-wheeler didn't even try to slow down.

"All I saw in the mirror when I looked up was the white cab of this big truck. I mean, I couldn't even move out of the way or do anything at all. No reaction time at all. This guy was flying," said Frank McGuyer, who's truck was hit.

Two people in the Mercedes were killed. A woman in the Cadillac was taken to the hospital and later died.

The child in the Cadillac was flown to Texas Children's Hospital. There's no word on the child's current condition.

The victims' names have not been released.
