AURORA, CO (KTRK) -- A police officer in Colorado was dragged several yards after a driver sped off during a traffic stop earlier this month. Video of the frightening stop, captured on the officer's body camera, was released on the Aurora Police Department's Facebook page.

Police say in the post that when officers asked for ID, the driver sped off, but the officer was holding onto the car and dragged several yards.

Police are now searching for the driver whose face was seen clearly in the video. Authorities say he's 34-year-old Jason Moore. Police say he should be considered a dangerous fugitive and warned residents not to approach him.

There's no word on whether the officer was hurt.
