HOUSTON (KTRK) -- School districts that were hit hard by flooding in southeast Texas will be granted a two-day waiver, the Texas Education Agency announced today.

That means school districts in the disaster declaration area that have canceled school for one or two days this week won't have to make those days up.

Districts with more than two days missed will not have to make up two days for the rest of the school year, but will need to work with the TEA on options for the remaining missed days.

Greater Houston area counties in Gov. Greg Abbott's state of disaster declaration include Austin, Fort Bend, Colorado, Grimes, Harris, Montgomery, Waller and Wharton.
