Judge denies bond for suspect in racing hit and run crash that killed minister and wife

Suspect in alleged racing crash that killed a minister and his wife appears before a judge.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Alexis De LaRosa Sosa is accused of killing a couple while he was racing in northwest Houston.

The 21-year-old suspect is being held without bond. He appeared before a judge late Friday night. Police say De LaRosa Sosa was racing his truck on Tuesday night. He reportedly failed to stop and ran into a BMW on Bammel at the west Sam Houston Beltway feeder.

Jesse Estrada Sabillon and Maria Sabillon were inside the car and both died at the scene. The couple had been married 30 years. Jesse Sabillon was a minister.

According to the court, Alexis De LaRosa Sosa admitted to leaving the scene of the accident. De LaRosa Sosa was identified through Facebook, vehicle registration and Crime Stoppers tips.
