HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A woman was killed when she slammed her SUV into the back of a dump truck in southeast Houston.
The accident happened on the Gulf Freeway northbound at Broadway Street.

Witnesses say around 2:30am, a woman crashed her SUV into a dump truck. She died at the scene. The driver of the dump truck was sent to the hospital. That driver's condition is unknown at this time.
The dump trucks were doing some construction work and were heading home when the accident happened. HPD's accident reconstruction team is at the scene.
The shutdown caused a big backup this morning as result of the wreck.
Commuters who regularly travel on the Gulf Freeway know it is not immune to its share of violent accidents.
