Texans 2016 schedule includes five primetime matchups

The Houston Texans will be under the primetlme lights five times this season.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- We already knew which teams the Texans were playing and where. Now we know when, and five of this season's games will be under the prime-time lights.

The Texans open at home against the Chicago Bears on September 11, followed by the Chiefs on September 18.

Houston travels to New England on Thursday, September 22, for a prime-time match-up with Tom Brady and the Patriots.

Houston comes back home for an October 2 home date with the Titans, then travels to Minnesota on October 9 to take on the Vikings.

Then it's primetime again at home with the Colts on Sunday, October 16, followed by another prime-time game - a Monday night showdown with former Texans coach Gary Kubiak and the Denver Broncos.

Houston closes out October with a home date against the Lions before a bye week on November 9. They pick back up on November 13 with a trip to Jacksonville, then their Mexico City showdown with The Oakland Raiders on November 21.

The team returns home to take on the Chargers on November 27, then it's up to Green Bay to take on the Packers on the frozen tundra December 4.

They play at the Colts December 11, then are home for Jacksonville December 18.

It's back under the prime-time lights for a Christmas Eve showdown with the Bengals on December 24, then the Texans close out the regular season with a New Year's Day game at Tennessee.
