Puppy needs surgery after being shot by a BB gun and hit by a car

RICHMOND, TX (KTRK) -- A puppy named Faith is stealing hearts at Fort Bend County Animal Services despite some rough injuries. Someone dropped the nine-month-old stray off last week. They spotted her wandering off Rohan Road with a bad limp.

The non-profit "Saving Our Companion Animals" quickly stepped in to help the dog. Rita Garretson with the organization explained they took Faith to a local veterinarian.

"They determined that one of her legs is broken. It's an old fracture. The other hip is dislocated," said Garretson. "What was really astounding is they told me she had BBs embedded in her from someone shooting a BB gun at her."

Garretson also said the broken leg may have been from a car hitting Faith.

"These injuries aren't new. They're over 30 days old so she's been on her own. She was left to suffer," said Garretson. "To go through this and still be such a sweet dog, it break my heart."

An early estimate suggests Faith will need a 3,000 dollar surgery. The group is trying to raise money. They've created a crowdfunding account. You can reach it by visiting, here.
