HARRIS COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- A man is taken to the hospital in critical condition after he was hit by two cars Sunday morning.
Ryan Musil, an investigator with the Harris County Sheriff's Office said the call came in just after 1 a.m. Musil said a man was walking across Steubner Airline Road and was struck by two different vehicles. It happened just north of Cypress Creek Parkway.
The first vehicle hit the 42-year-old man as he was walking at an angle across the road. After that, another vehicle came up and that's when the man was struck again.
Investigators said the driver had no idea the man was in the road.
"A second car coming just a short time after didn't know anything had happened, did not see the male in the roadway until after the fact, tried swerving to the left and did unfortunately strike the male," said Ryan Musil.
Cypress Creek EMS and firefighters with the Klein Fire Department responded and immediately requested life flight. The injured man was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital.
Investigators say the drivers were not at fault.
