HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A mom is searching for answers after she says her son was choked by the very person that's supposed to take care of him -- a daycare worker.
Aritha Jefferson is mad and says her son, Junior, was choked when the Creative Care Academy bus was taking him home three weeks ago.
"They were on their way home and he accidentally touched her turban. She got mad," Jefferson said.
After that she says the worker started to become more aggressive. According to Jefferson, the worker told the boy he was stupid and then began to choke him, but that's not all.
"Not only did you choke my baby, you sprayed air freshener on him and you poured juice on him. What were you thinking? There's nothing you can tell me he done to you for you to do him like that," Jefferson said.
Eyewitness News reached out to Creative Care Academy on Beechnut. The owner declined to comment but said the employee in question no longer works there. ABC13 reached out to the daycare worker but was unable to get in contact with her. An investigation also found that over a period of 13 months, the daycare had 23 violations.
Houston police is investigating the case as an assault. So far no charges have been filed but HPD says they are continuing to look into the incident.
