HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash along the 7700 block of McHard.

It was just after nine Thursday night, when Cutberto Valenciano noticed a horrible sight outside the storage facility he manages along the Fort Bend and Harris County line. It was a woman face down in a ditch, just past his driveway.

The female victim, a pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

In the day light, Valanciano found shards of a headlight. The etchings of the Chrysler logo are clearly visible. However, there is not much else to go on. Vehicle crimes detectives returned to the scene Friday afternoon, and tried to gather whatever information they could.

If you know who the woman may be, or who may have struck someone along the 7700 block of McHard on Thursday night, you are urged to call police.
