UH baseball takes on Rice, Joe Gleason reports.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- University of Houston's five game winning streak came to an end Tuesday night at the hands of a cross-town team.

Rice won game one of The Silver Glove Series against the Cougars, 7-4, at UH's Schroeder Park. The Owls sent six hitters to the plate in the first inning and lead 2-0 after the inning.

The Owls scored two more runs in the second highlighted by a two-run Andrew Dunlap home run off UH starter Marshall Kasowski.

Rice will host Old Dominion for three games starting Friday night.

University of Houston will host George Washington for three games starting Thursday night.
