Man killed in house fire in northeast Houston
Man killed in house fire in northeast Houston, but his wife was able to escape the flames.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- One person has died in a house fire in northeast Houston, according to the Houston Fire Department.

The fire broke out just before 10am in the 5500 block of Bunte Road.

Firefighters arrived to find the house heavily involved in flames. After a search, they located one man dead. Family members say the 88-year-old man didn't survive, but his wife, also in her 80s, was able to get out of the home.

The house suffered heavy fire, smoke and water damage. HFD Arson Bureau will be investigating this fire.
