Rodeo comes to end with record-breaking stat
Workers spent Monday clearing away NRG Park to get ready for next month's NCAA Final Four.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Workers spent Monday clearing away NRG Park to get ready for next month's NCAA Final Four.

SkyEye HD flew over the property as workers tore down the carnival midway and cleared the parking lot area.

This was another big year for the rodeo.

The rodeo said it welcomed more than 2.46 million visitors to the World's Championship Barbecue Contest and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The paid RodeoHouston attendance reached more than 1.34 million fans, ranking third in paid rodeo/concert attendance.

The rodeo also saw a new all-time concert record on Go Tejano Day with 75,508 fans showing up.

More than 61,000 people participated in a scheduled school tour or a field trip the grounds. The rodeo also committed more than $25.8 million worth of scholarships for students.
