HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Two southwest Houston clubs will now be required to clean up their act or risk closure after a judge approved a temporary injunction over safety concerns.
The injunction is against Mekano and D'Kache clubs that sit side-by-side in the 9300 block of Richmond near Ocee. The injunction threatens to invalidate the clubs' rental agreements if owner Cesar August Casco fails to adhere to state liquor laws in both clubs.
Harris County Attorney Vince Ryan filed for the injunction saying both clubs have a history of violence, including two aggravated assaults, one robbery, one sexual assault, and most recently, a gun battle taking place in the parking lot.
A release on this case adds that HPD has arrested the bartender at Mekano twice over the last year for illegally selling and serving alcohol after hours.
Club employees did not react well when Eyewitness News Reporter Mayra Moreno asked about reports of underage drinking. Watch the tense exchange in the video above.
Ryan says this is the first step in helping to clean up crime in the area.
