HCSO: Son, 23, admitted to shooting father in the face

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Authorities say a 23-year-old man shot his father in the face yesterday and allegedly admitted to the crime.

It all happened in the 15000 block of Yorktown Colony Drive around 4pm on Tuesday. Harris County Sheriff's deputies say they found Pedroza Sr. on the ground in the front yard, bleeding.

Jorge Pedroza, Sr. was sent via LifeFlight to Memorial Hermann Hospital, but died of his injuries.

Authorities say Pedroza Jr. was located at a neighbor's home and HCSO claims he told deputies that he shot his father.

HCSO says murder charges are pending against Pedroza Jr. and he is currently being held in the county jail.
