Man robbed, shot in front of grandson outside home in north Harris County

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man in the Greenspoint area was shot several times in what relatives tell us was a set-up -- and the gunman got away.

The man was outside his home on Abney in north Harris County when a man and woman pulled up, tried to rob him, and then shot him in the chest, according to police

The victim was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery.

The victim's grandson, who witnessed the shooting, was not hurt.

Relatives say the woman who was with the gunman had just moved into the victim's home and was receiving help from him. Police took her in for questioning. The gunman remains at large.
