A person is now in custody after a crash during a short pursuit with Houston police. Jeff Ehling reports.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The I-45 interchange is now open after a police chase that ended on the Southwest Freeway at the I-45 interchange with a crash.

The chase began just after 11am near the intersection of N Braeswood and S Rice in southwest Houston, when Houston police began pursuing a white four-door Lincoln that refused to stop. The suspect led officers down the Southwest Freeway towards downtown, causing at least one accident along the way. Police say several items were thrown from the vehicle during the chase.

The chase ended at the I-45 interchange, where officers took the suspect, who appears to be a woman, into custody.
