Long lines of people waiting to vote in east Houston. (KTRK)

As 7pm neared, long lines of people waiting to vote at Dezavala Park in east Houston remained.

Harris County says parties underestimated voter turnout. That and longer ballots are being blamed for delays at some polls.

Everyone who was in line at 7pm would be allowed to finish voting.
