HOUSTON -- Houston-based Sysco is the latest company to announce it will be cutting jobs.

The food distribution company will lay off about 1,200 employees over the next 15 months. We do not know how many of those layoffs will be here in Houston.

The layoffs will focus on what company officials call "administrative, non-customer facing roles" That means marketing associates and delivery and warehouse workers will not be affected.
