Houston Police are seeking dozens of witnesses who were at the scene of a fatal shooting

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A basketball game ends with one man dead and police looking for the person who pulled the trigger.

It happened around 11 last night at Malone Park near Tuam and Tierwester.

Houston police say about 80 people were here last night playing basketball before an argument broke out. That is when the shooting started.

Deandre Edwards, 27, was shot in the back and in the leg.

Police say when they got here they found the victim in the park. The man was taken to Ben Taub Hospital where he died.

Investigators say Edwards was actually running away from the gunman when he was shot.

Even though there were dozens of people out here, police say they do not have a lot of information about who pulled the trigger or what the fight was over.

"Initial indications are that there was a basketball game going on in the park, several shots were fired and he had been shot," says HPD Night Commander Larry Crowson.

If you have any information about the shooting, you urged to call Houston Police.
