Rick Perry Debate
Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry weighs in on the GOP debate at the University of Houston.

HOUSTON -- It was another brawl on stage, as the top five GOP candidates for president went head to head in a debate. Thursday night's was held on the campus of the University of Houston. We had UH political science professor Brandon Rottinghaus at the station to break it all down for us for Eyewitness News. Here were his 10 biggest moments from the debate.

1) Back and forth between Marco Rubio and Donald Trump on immigration and hiring of illegal Polish immigrants. Trump replied that it was 38 years ago. Rubio fired back, saying there's a statute of limitation on lies.

2) Rubio saying that Trump was repeating himself on his plant to replace Obamacare. Trump's comeback was that Rubio repeated himself in the last debate.

3) Ted Cruz hits Trump on donating to Democrats, especially to John Kerry

4) Ben Carson, feeling left out, pleaded with his opponents to attack him!

5) Cruz played up the promise to defend Constitution and religious liberty. He went on to say Trump won't appoint justices who are conserve enough.

6) Trump says Hugh Hewitt that no one listens to his radio show.

7) Trump says to Cruz that he's losing in several states, but should keep swinging

8) Ben Carson gets big applause when he spoke of getting rid of the IRS.

9) John Kasich talked about fixing healthcare in Ohio.
