Vigil honors pizzeria employee killed during robbery
Family and friends of Peter Mielke gathered Thursday to honor 19-year-old Peter Mielke after he was gunned down at his work in soutwhest Houston.

BELLAIRE, TX (KTRK) -- Disturbing 911 call give an eerie insight into what happen when Peter Mielke was shot and killed on Sunday night at a pizzeria in Bellaire.

Dispatcher: "Who's been shot?"

Caller: "His name is Peter. I need an ambulance. I need some police. My store's being robbed! An employee has been shot."

Dispatcher: "Ok, where has he been shot at?"

Caller: "I don't know."

Dispatcher: "Ok, is he conscious and breathing?"

Caller: "I don't know. I'm not at the store. I ran out."

In a harrowing 911 call, Reginelli's Pizzeria's manager tells a dispatcher 'My store's being robbed ... One of the employees is shot!'

Then a second call:

Caller: "I didn't see the guy or anything. He was wearing a mask. I was out back. And uh, the manager and one of the cooks on the duty they sprinted out the door and told me to start running."

Mielke's loved ones are determined to find the suspect. On Thursday they posted fliers near the Bellarie pizzeria where peter was killed by a robber Sunday night.

"The only way it's going to get solved is to get the word out, get his picture out," said Dana Mielke, Peter's mother.

Police released new surveillance video late Thursday afternoon. Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward.

Peter's mother is focused on justice as she grieves over the loss of her only son.

"You have to deal with the fact that you'll never see him again. So as simple as it is, you just wish you could see them again," said Dana Mielke.

A vigil for Peter was held Thursday night.

"I just want to find him because he doesn't deserve to be walking out on the streets. He doesn't deserve to be here right now. He needs to be locked up," Mielke's girlfriend, Sarah Cartwright, said.

"If I found the guy, I would do something I can't really speak of on television, honestly," Mielke's former coworker Ray Lloyd said.

Loved ones also are holding a memorial service 2pm Saturday at Faith Lutheran, 4600 S. Bellaire.
