Detailed Milky Way map now available online

The best map ever made of the Milky Way is now available online.

The Apex Telescope in Chile captured light in sub millimeter wavelengths, and then the European Southern Observatory put them together to create an image of the full area of the galactic plane, as visible from the Southern Hemisphere.
