Online we found several pairs of custom-painted boots for close to $500. Williams painted two pairs for less than $10. She says she is not an artist, but followed online tutorials to get the job done. Williams says paint is a perfect way to hide all those imperfections like stains and scuffs.

Williams says one of the best places to find boots is the Family Thrift Shop on Bellaire Boulevard.
