Bar fight caught on camera
We're hearing both sides of what happened in this video.

RICHMOND, TX (KTRK) -- A husband and wife were arrested Thursday after a disturbance captured on video at a Fort Bend County bar near Richmond.

It happened at the Z Bar on Crab River Road. According to the Ft. Bend County Sheriff's Office, that husband and wife got into an argument with another female in another group. The couple was then reportedly asked to leave the bar.

While off-duty deputies who were providing security at the bar were trying to get the couple to leave, they say the husband pushed and knocked one of the deputies into a table. That's when the deputies tried to put the husband in handcuffs.

"My husband is on the ground with all these officers just hitting him, beating him. I'm screaming," said Meghan Moseley, who then can be seen on video striking one of the deputies.

That video was shot by an eyewitness. You can see it in its entirety here. On that video you can then see the deputy react, tackling her and taking her into custody.

Mosely at first denied striking the deputy when we asked if she did that. Then we showed her the video which changed her recollection.

"That was my reaction. I wasn't thinking. I wasn't thinking," she said.

Both Moseley and her husband, Thomas Eugene Moseley, say they are the victims. They deny they were intoxicated and claim they felt threatened by other customers following an exchange of words. Both claim the deputy who approached them about that told them to take the fight outside.

"He had the audacity to say to both of us, 'Well, last time I checked, you need to go out back and take it man to man,'" said Moseley.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff's office insists the couple misunderstood the deputy's attempt at de-escalating the situation, that he meant for them to take the situation outside to calm down.

Sheriff Troy Nehls posted on Twitter that "The bar fight video with our deputies shows the dangers law enforcement face every day. Our deputies did a great job in a stressful situation."

Both husband and wife are in custody on allegations of assault of a peace officer, resisting arrest and public intoxication.

A manager at Z Bar tells us they employ contract deputies in order to keep the peace at the establishment, that it's part of an ongoing effort to clean up the image of the business.
