WAUSAU, WI (KTRK) -- A 92-year-old Wisconsin man is accused of sexually assaulting girls decades ago and now his case is going to trial.
A jury was selected Tuesday in the case.
Edward Heckendorf is facing five felony charges of sexual assault of a child under the age of 13.
Prosecutors say he sexually assaulted two girls between 1983 and 1994.
At the time of the assaults, the children were between the ages of 8 and 11 years old.
Prosescutors claim the assaults happened many times. They say Heckendorf touched the girls under their clothes all over their bodies.
WAOW reports, citing court records, that prosecutors offered Heckendorf a plea deal before the trial began, but he declined.
The trial resumes today.
