A Good Samaritan was killed in an accident involving a suspected drunk driver

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man helping another driver having some car trouble was struck by a car and killed last night on the Eastex Freeway southbound at Crosstimbers.

The driver who hit him was allegedly drunk.

Police say the 31-year-old victim was on the emergency shoulder when a Grand Prix hit a truck, crossed all five lanes of traffic and struck the man.

Houton Police's JD Rossman said, "The driver of the Grand Prix was taken to the hospital. Charges of intoxication manslaughter were accepted."
