Man dies attempting to cross seven lanes of traffic in NW Harris County
A nearby deputy heard the wreck and attempted to help

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man has died after trying to cross seven lanes of traffic in northwest Harris County.

The accident happened overnight off FM 1960 Road at Briarcreek Boulevard.

Deputies with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constables Office say the man was hit by two vehicles while trying to walk across FM 1960.

A deputy heard the accident from about 100 yards away and rushed to help, but it was too late.

The pedestrian died before emergency crews could arrive.

No identification was found on the victim. Deputies are investigating.
