Meadows Place PD and Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office are investigating a fatal scene after three people were found dead inside a home Tuesday evening. Investigators believe the violent scene was a result of an apparent murder-suicide.

Around 6:20pm authorities received a 911 call from a family member of the victims inside the home, located in the 11700 block of Dorrance Lane. A man called emergency officials after he returned from work and found the victims inside the house. He told police that he found his wife, mother and younger brother shot to death.

Two children, both under the age 2, were inside the home. Meadows Place Police Chief Gary Stewart says they were found unharmed.

"It's a very sad thing to put the kids through that," neighbor Katherine Shipley said.

Family members at the crime scene were trying to piece together everything that happened.

Preliminary results indicate the mother shot the female and male victims before turning the gun on herself.

The bodies were sent to the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office and the police department is waiting on results from that agency.

The case remains under investigation.
