Couple found dead in apparent murder suicide in home in northwest Harris County.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A husband and wife were discovered dead Tuesday morning by a friend who had been asked to check up on them by their son.

The friend made the grisly discovery at about 11:30am at the couple's home in the 10000 block of Crooks Way Court. Investigators say the son told the friend he had not heard from his parents in two days and that the friend found the back door unlocked upon arrival.

Neighbors say they saw nothing unusual before the apparent murder-suicide. "If what they're saying is true, its really just a shame," said neighbor John Callahan.

Detectives say there were no signs of forced entry. The couple was found shot to death in the office. The woman was 60 years old, according to a Harris County Sheriff's Office spokesperson. The man was 66.

Investigators say there was no note and nothing inside the home that might indicate what motivated the shooting. They won't say who was shot first.

We have names of the victims from neighbors but authorities will not confirm those yet as they say the medical examiner has not yet made a positive identification of the bodies.
