Deadly wreck involving child reported in Kingwood area

KINGWOOD, TX (KTRK) -- Houston police are investigating after a young boy was killed in an accident involving a car in the Kingwood area.

The accident happened off Broadleaf Street near Northpark.

According to police, a neighbor was driving very slowly when the vehicle hit him. The boy died on the scene. His name has not been released. At one point, police say the child's mother and the driver were consoling each other.

Police are calling what happened a tragic accident. Residents arriving home to the emergency vehicles on their street were shocked and saddened.
