Eyewitnesses watch as driver plows car into pedestrian in NW Houston
Two eyewitnesses say they are shaken after a man was struck and killed in northwest Houston.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A hit-and-run driver has killed a man in north Houston and is now on the run.

That deadly accident happened around 4am along the 5700 block of the North Freeway feeder road and Werner Street, where a man was hit in the Texaco parking lot.

Again, that man, who appears to be in his 30s or 40s, has died of his injuries. We do not yet know his identity.

We arrived shortly after the accident happened and can tell you that before ambulances got here, the victim was already dead. When Houston Police came out here, they found what may be the victim's personal items in the feeder road as well as what might be a piece of the vehicle that struck the man.

Officers tell us whoever hit the suspect then continued driving north up the the feeder road and is now wanted.

At this hour, the feeder road remains shut down as police continue to figure out what happened out here.
