Man caught smuggling live birds in bag, groin, authorities say

MIAMI, FL (KTRK) -- A man headed to Florida was caught with live birds in his pants.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection say the man was a passenger on a flight from Cuba to Miami.

When they searched him, they found six exotic birds in his fanny pack and three more hidden in his pants.

The birds were turned over the Department of Agriculture's Miami quarantine station.
