Man accused of stabbing pregnant girlfriend surrenders in Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man accused of stabbing his pregnant girlfriend has been arrested following a standoff with a Houston SWAT team.

It all happened just after 1am at the Apartments on Westheimer on Westheimer Road at Westerland Drive.

Police say a man got into an argument with his girlfriend, who is pregnant. During the fight, he pulled out a knife and stabbed her.

When police arrived, he barricaded himself inside his apartment.

SWAT officers were called, who convinced the man to surrender.

The man is now charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The victim is expected to survive her injuries.
