HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Two people were injured after a fire erupted inside their southeast Houston home.

Firefighters were called to the home, located in the 15700 block of Heatherdale Dr., just after 6:30pm Wednesday. Authorities say the fire may have started from an upstairs bedroom.

According to a neighbor, a husband and wife were inside the home when the fire erupted. Firefighters were able to rescue the wife after the husband was able to exit the burning home. Neighbors were able to save two dogs.

Both individuals were taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital.
