Special needs man dies in Splendora mobile home fire
The man in his fifties lived with his parents, who were also injured in the blaze.

SPLENDORA, TX (KTRK) -- An adult man with special needs is killed after his mobile home catches fire.

It happened in Splendora in Montgomery County off of a rural road.

East Montgomery County Fire Chief Jeff Taylor said three adults lived inside the single-wide home.

The adult man who died was in his fifties.

He lived with his parents.

Chief Taylor said when firefighters arrived the victims were trapped inside the home.

An elderly woman, the mother of the man killed, received second degree burns. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The victim's father suffered burns to his hands.

The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

Fire officials have not released the names of the fire victims.
