HARRIS COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- Police have arrested the accused killer of a man whose body was discovered by his wife in north Harris County.

Homicide detectives have arrested and charged Tristian J. Porter, identified as a friend of victim Ramiro Acosta.

Porter appeared for the first time before a judge at 4am in downtown Houston.

In an exclusive story you saw only on abc13 yesterday, Carla Melendez says she found the body of her 23-year-old husband early Thursday morning by using an iPhone tracking app linked to his cell.

Acosta's body was found just a short distance from the Lone Star College-North Harris Police Department on Turkey Drive near Aldine Westfield Road.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office now says Melendez indicated her husband was with friends Wednesday night when they went to a location to do a "lick," a robbery, for drugs.

Investigators say sometime during the lick, the victim was shot by Porter after a struggle with the drug seller.

Detectives were able to identify Acosta's friends yesterday, who told officers of the events which led to his death.

Porter is now being held in the Harris County Jail facing murder charges in the death of his friend.
