Amber Alert canceled after 3-year-old South Houston boy found safe

An Amber Alert that had been in effect Saturday night for a missing 3-year-old South Houston child has been canceled. The child has been found safe and his mother arrested.

According to South Houston police, Veronica Ann Padilla was visiting her son, Isaac Benitez, at her sister's home. Police say the sister has custody of all three of Padilla's children.

During the visit, Padilla reportedly drove off with Isaac, and the Amber Alert was issued soon after.

Police found the two and arrested Padilla. Police say she's being charged with kidnapping.
