Motorcycle officer involved in accident near Tomball

TOMBALL, Texas (KTRK) -- A motorcycle officer who was escorting a funeral procession has been involved in an accident on the Tomball Parkway.

According to Harris County Sheriff's Office, an officer from the South Houston Police Department was involved in the crash Thursday afternoon in the area of the parkway and Boudreaux Estates.

The officers is alert and is heading to the hospital, the sheriff's office said.

There is no word on what led to the wreck.
