Man walking on Gulf Freeway hit and killed overnight

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- All the northbound lanes of the Gulf Freeway are back open near Dixie Farm after police say a man was hit and killed.

Police tell ABC13 the man was walking on the freeway around midnight when a pickup hit and killed him.

The driver stopped. Police say they don't expect that person to face any charges.

Authorities say they don't know why the pedestrian was on the freeway.
